Longwood Duct and Chimney Work, From the Historic District to the Wekiva Side

Longwood is really two towns sharing a name. There is the historic district around Church Avenue, where some structures date to the late 1800s and the mechanical systems were added generations later. Then there are the wooded subdivisions running west toward the Wekiva basin, built mostly in the 1970s and 1980s on lots the developers deliberately left thick with pine and oak. The second group is where we spend most of our time, and it is also where we find the thing that surprises people most often: a masonry fireplace that was built into the house when it went up and has not had a fire in it since the Reagan administration. Services Available in Longwood

Air Duct Cleaning in Longwood

Homes on the Wekiva side often have the air handler in a utility closet shared with well equipment, which puts the return in the dampest corner of the house.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Longwood

Lint clears out of the run rather than being pushed further along it. Standard scope covers up to seven feet, which is most Longwood laundry rooms but not the long runs in larger homes.

Chimney Inspection and Cleaning in Longwood

A flue that has gone a decade without a fire is the most likely place on a Longwood property to find nesting material, and you will not see it from the firebox.

Attic Insulation in Longwood

Insulation in a shaded 1980s Longwood attic tends to look intact and measure short, because it has spent forty years settling and being walked on.

Air Purification Systems in Longwood

Fitted to the system you already have in Longwood, and only where the ductwork and the air handler can carry it. A purifier does not substitute for ducts that need cleaning first.

Condenser Coil Cleaning in Longwood

The outdoor coil, which in Longwood spends the year collecting grass clippings, pollen and yard debris. A blocked coil makes the compressor work against itself.

HVAC System Restoration in Longwood

For Longwood systems where cleaning is not the whole answer: damaged flex, disconnected boots, crushed runs and returns that were never sized for the house.

Solar Attic Fan in Longwood

Heavy canopy cuts the sun a solar fan needs. Before we sell you one we want to look at what actually hits your roof between ten and four in July.

Attic Insulation Removal in Longwood

Full removal where Longwood insulation is contaminated, water damaged or has been disturbed by rodents, before anything new goes down on top of it.

What makes Longwood different

An unused chimney in Central Florida does not sit empty. A flue is a vertical shaft with a warm draft, a rain cap that may or may not still be intact, and no traffic for years at a time. Squirrels, raccoons and chimney swifts all treat that as an invitation, and the nesting material they bring in is exactly the fuel you do not want above a firebox. In the Wekiva-side neighborhoods that problem compounds, because the tree cover that makes those streets pleasant also puts branches directly over the crown. Leaf litter drops into the cap, holds moisture through the summer, and rusts out the damper from above. The same canopy fills dryer vent hoods on the shaded side of a house and drops a steady load of oak catkins and pine needles into every soffit and roof valley. Longwood also has a lot of homes on private wells and older septic, which means the air handler closet is frequently sharing space with a pressure tank and years of iron staining. When we quote a Longwood job we ask about the fireplace even if you did not call about it, because the odds are good that nobody has looked up that flue in a very long time.

We offer same-week scheduling, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and a current special of just $97 per A/C unit for unlimited air duct + dryer vent cleaning.

Longwood questions

We have never once lit our fireplace. Is there any reason to have the chimney looked at?
That is the case we most want to look at. Years without a fire means years without anything discouraging animals from moving into the flue, and nesting material sitting above a firebox is a real problem the first time someone decides to try the fireplace on a cold January night. An unused flue also gives rain and leaf litter time to corrode the damper from above.
Something is living in our chimney. Can you handle that?
Our work is cleaning and inspection, not wildlife removal, and there are seasons when certain birds nesting in a flue are legally protected. If we open a chimney and find an active nest, we will tell you exactly what is in there and what needs to happen before we can clean it. We would rather stop and say so than pull something out that should not be disturbed.
Our lot is under heavy tree cover. Does the shade help or hurt?
It helps the cooling load and it hurts almost everything else on the exterior. Shade keeps roof surfaces damp longer, fills gutters and vent hoods with leaf litter, and gives moss and debris a place to hold on. The dryer vent hood on the shaded side of a Longwood house is a frequent find.
Is a home in the historic district handled differently?
Yes, mainly on access. Older Longwood structures were not built around ductwork, so the runs were fitted into whatever cavity existed at the time and the material is often not what a modern attic would use. We work with what is there rather than assuming a standard layout, and we do not open finishes to reach a run without talking to you first.
Our house is on a well. Does that affect the air handler closet?
It affects the environment around it. A pressure tank sweats, the closet stays humid, and the return is drawing air from that space every time the blower runs. It is worth having the cabinet and the surrounding area cleaned when the ducts are done rather than treating them as separate jobs.
Do you service Longwood?
Yes. Longwood is inside the regular service area worked from Orlando, so it is a scheduled visit rather than a special trip. Booking is on (407) 990-1969 and the phone is answered from 8 AM to 9 PM.
How long does a duct cleaning take in a Longwood home?
It depends on the number of systems and the layout rather than on square footage. A single-system Longwood house with reachable returns is a different job from one with two air handlers, a zoned upstairs and registers in vaulted ceilings. The number of vents does not change the price, because the duct service is priced for unlimited vents, but it does change the time on site.
How often should Longwood ducts be cleaned?
Less by the calendar than by what has happened to the house. Central Florida runs air conditioning most of the year, so a Longwood system moves air far more hours than one in a cold climate. Renovation, a roof leak, new pets, a rodent problem or buying the house at all are better triggers than a fixed interval.
Do I need to be home during the Longwood appointment?
Someone needs to let the crew in and be reachable, because access to every return and register matters more than anything else on site. In Longwood rentals and second homes that is often a property manager rather than the owner, which is fine as long as whoever is there can authorise the work.
Will you tell me if the Longwood ducts do not actually need cleaning?
Yes. The ducts get inspected before anything starts, and if what is there does not warrant the work you will be told that. It happens more often on newer Longwood construction than people expect, and in some houses the real problem turns out to be a filter, a return that was never sized correctly, or damaged flex that needs repair rather than cleaning.
Do you handle both houses and businesses in Longwood?
Both. The work is the same in principle and different in practice: a Longwood commercial system usually means rooftop units, longer trunk runs and scheduling around the hours the space is actually in use. Restaurants, salons and medical offices each bring their own constraint on when the system can be taken down.
